ATTENTION GLASTONBURY HARTWELL PLAYERS
Consider trying out for the Connecticut ODP team. The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a national program with chapter in every state, including Connecticut. Players must tryout for placement on the Connecticut ODP team (tryouts normally held in November).
REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER (RTC)
CJSA also holds Regional Training Centers throughout the year. You can sign up for these short clinics and meet the coaches and trainers involved in the ODP teams. We occasionally host RTC on Glastonbury fields, and Oakwood may host a few indoors during the colder months. Click here for more information about upcoming RTC events in Glastonbury.
FOR PLAYERS THAT ARE OFFERED A SPOT ON A CONNECTICUT ODP TEAM
Benefits of ODP participation: Additional training with nationally licensed coaching staff; Playing in the ODP scouting network where players are identified for the ODP Regional and ODP National teams; Play against teams from other regional states; Potentially have an opportunity to play nationally, or even internationally.
Time Commitment: Practices are once every other week (usually Sundays) starting in the winter indoors. Practices move outdoors in the spring (usually Monday nights). There are less than a handful of games throughout the winter and spring, and there's usually 1 major regional tournament in June. Certain players may also be invited to join regional teams and camps.
Financial Commitment: $650 per player (includes uniform) - Must be a REGISTERED USYS player (if you're registered with Hartwell, then you're registered with USYS). If a tournament or game is played elswhere in New England, the cost of travel and lodging is on the player.
